Role Synopsis

The Cementing Operator-L3 is a senior-level position responsible for leading spot & rig-up of cement equipment, executing cementing operations at oil and gas well sites. This role involves overseeing the preparation, mixing, and pumping of cement slurry secure casing and isolate formations. The operator works with a high level of autonomy and responsibility to ensure the safe and efficient execution of cementing jobs according to company procedures and industry standards.

Key Accountabilities (includes, but not limited to the following)

  • Plan and execute cementing operations according to approved job designs, procedures, and safety guidelines, ensuring the proper placement of cement in the wellbore to achieve zonal isolation and casing integrity.
  • Manage and maintain cementing equipment, including pumps, mixers, and associated tools, ensuring equipment readiness, performance, and compliance with maintenance schedules
  • Ensure all HP irons are certified as per QHSE standard before rig up.
  • Ensure clean & wash all cement equipment after each cement job and its readiness for the next job
  • Supervise and mentor junior operators and technicians, providing guidance, training, and support to enhance team competency and performance in cementing operations.
  • Ensure the quality and integrity of cementing operations by monitoring slurry properties, additives, and chemical concentrations, and implementing quality control measures to meet job specifications and customer requirements.
  • Demonstrate leadership in safety by promoting a culture of safety awareness, accountability, and continuous improvement, and ensuring compliance with Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental (QHSE) policies and procedures
  • Identify and mitigate operational risks, hazards, and environmental impacts associated with cementing operations, equipment handling, and job execution, and implement control measures to minimize risks to personnel, equipment, and the environment.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and company policies governing safety, environmental protection, and cementing operations, and maintain accurate records and documentation as required.
  • Lead incident response efforts in the event of quality & safety incidents, spills, or other emergencies, conducting thorough investigations, implementing corrective actions, and providing recommendations for preventive measures.
