Ensure that deck crew are properly trained in lifting, slinging and signaling techniques and that designated, easily identified Banksman is always used for crane operations. 

Assist the OIM/PIC in keeping the collection of flag-state, national and international rules and regulations updated. 

Monitor the cost control and inventory lists in respect of materials for the rig. Supply budget input for coming years
